Shhh… have you heard?! The Pirates have landed at Wheatcliffe!! They’re throwin boxes and chests full of plunder… free for the takin! Fine gowns, clothes, jewels, priceless treasure and more… and it’s all to be had Saturday February 18th at the docks of the beautiful and engaging Renaissance roleplay sim where the Shire of Wheatcliffe resides. And that’s not all m’ hearties…. thar be music and revelry provided by the Scottish band Albannach! You really don’t want to miss it!
Here are the details from the announcement from Susanna Valeska – the Baroness of Wheatcliffe:
Rummage and Albannach Performance|Tomorrow, Saturday the 18th at 1200 IW time, we will have all sorts of goodies washing up on the docks of Wheatcliffe from a pirate ship wreck. At 1 p.m. Albannach will perform their traditional Scottish music on the deck outside of the Lion’s Den Inn. If you have period clothing items to contribute, extra chests will be provided by cracker taggart. Rummage will run all afternoon, band plays for an hour. Susanna
And because I’ve got a terrible cold and can barely sit at my computer right now… I’m going to post a bunch of pics so you can see the chests are starting to drift to shore one by one… but be there tomorrow for the whole lot of loot and a great time to be had! Seriously, you don’t want to miss this!
Changing tents will be provided and if you can imagine a horde of people all diving in on the piles of boxes and grabbin stuff, trying it on, laughing, flaunting, dancing to incredible music by Albannach …. well you’ll only get a tiny glimpse of all the fun that’s in store.
Just a glimpse at some of the gowns you *might* find there… hard to say.. some chests have drifted off to sea…. Guys.. there’s stuff here for you too!
Some very talented designers, including Cracker Taggart, Leanna Caerndow, Aria Swansong and more, are coming together to bring you these gorgeous things FREE… Okay perhaps the pirates had something to do with it *winks*. Be there to share in the camaraderie with fellow rummaging looting fools… er I mean friends! Oh and if you want more info on future Rummages to come here and around the grid, join the “Rummagers” group formed by Cracker Taggart in InWorldz.

I was setting up my shop in the New Equinox Village last week, when in comes this lovely lady, Cracker Taggart, dressed in a lovely dress and woolen knit leggings and gloves. I complimented her on her lovely gloves and leggings, and she gave me a set! After I found out she made them, and was also making the beautiful flowing dress she was wearing, I asked her if she had a shop. And she said, No….
Well the rest of the evening we’re animatedly talking about this that and the other thing and finding out she’s an amazing builder with a massive inventory of things, when I finally convince her into renting a shop at Equinox. So! Be on the lookout for the new “TIO” shop at Equinox 2, where you can currently find some beautiful clothes and dresses in her “Sassie Scot” line. Here she is, moments after getting the keys from our wonderful Equinox landlord, Taika Wirsling. Look at that beautiful dress she’s wearing! I don’t know when it will be done, but I for one will be watching this shop closely. More is being added as she is able to work on taking photos and boxing them up, so do take a trip over to TIO on Equinox 2 in InWorldz to look around and grab her Landmark for return visits.
I waited with anticipation to see what lovely things would begin appearing in her shop, and went a bit wild with my friend Leanna shopping there. Here are a few things I wanted to share with you. I am wearing these at the Dreamz and Visionz Art Festival which is going on right now in InWorldz. I hope you’re able to go take a look. Many other people have blogged and written about this place, but it’s something you just have to see and experience for yourself to really get the full impact. InWorldz is home to many talented artists!
This first dress is a lovely white chemise with two skirt options. I’m wearing the longer version here, but there is a cute and flirty… sassy you might even say… shorter version that comes with it.
Next is the Leather Corset with Silk Plaid Skirt, and I really love this one! Taken in a few locations around the InWorldz Dreamz and Visionz Art Exhibit. I just couldn’t choose which I liked better, so you get both!
Another fun outfit I had to have was the Black Slinky Jacket with Green Leather Skirt. I can picture dancing the night away in a pub somwehere in Northern Scotland… I do believe the mermaids standing behind me are a wee bit jealous!
This next ensemble is something I call my Sassy Scot Mixemup. While jumbling through my closet and trying things on, I managed to layer my way into a combination of pieces from various outfits. And I like the result! Yeah, not saying I have good taste, but there’s something fun about the way I feel in this look. Wearing the Slinky Black Jacket over the Purple Tafetta Dress, with knit leggings and gloves, and the black pigskin boots by POSH Shoes.
Slipping out of all those layers, I slid into the silky smooth Green Gilly Dress, also by TIO. Cracker Taggart is fast becoming one of my favorite new InWorldz designers! I feel like springtime, fluttering and skipping lithely along. Oh look! A mother bird and her nest of babies! *squee moment!*
Now, before we go, there’s one other amazing designer that has been working her heart out, honing her craft, to bring you some very beautiful jewelry. I’d like to introduce you to my dear friend Kate Fiorell of K Fiorell Designs. The first set I would like to highlight is the Flora earrings and necklace set in Pearl and Gold. Also photographed on location at the InWorldz Dreamz and Visionz Event.
And here, the incredible Mystic dangle hoop earrings in Gold. I love the detail on these!
You can find her shop, K Fiorell Designs at the Vodka Sim. Another one to watch, and I hope you’re able to go visit her and enjoy her beautiful jewelry!
So Ladies, I don’t know what you’re waiting for, but there’s shopping to be done! Please go see the shops of these two wonderful creators, help support their art to keep these great designs coming, and tell them Boudica sent you!

Oh what a tangled web we weave…
Boudica Destiny here, after a bit of a vacation from blogging while working on some other projects. When Leanna Caerndow told me about the La Ville Macabre charity event to be held in InWorldz I was excited to be able to participate and create something new for a good cause. Here is my offering… I hope you enjoy it!
You can find the Tangled Web dress at the La Ville Macabre Interactive Haunted Village on the Chryssalis sim, located in InWorldz. The event runs from October 15th to November 1st and is really something you don’t want to miss.
Some incredibly talented people came together to build this sim, provide wonderful things to buy, and put together a great line-up of nightly events for you. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, and all proceeds from purchases made at the sim will go 100% to charity to benefit Virtual Helping Hands. Please visit Leanna Caerndow’s site for more information, and visit La Ville Macabre this Halloween season… while it lasts!
The Tangled Web Dress will only be available at La Ville Macabre until the event is over, with all proceeds going to charity. Afterwards, I’ll be adding it to my main Fashion Destiny shop on the Big Blue Easy sim in InWorldz, but please, come on out between October 15th and November 1st and help support a very worthy cause.

Novice clothing designer and hair-dresser turned movie maker! Yeah, can we say distracted? Alright, so I’ve been wanting to learn how to do a video for awhile now and when I came across a post by Kate Fiorell and asked how she did the video, she turned me on to CamStudio. Thanks Kate!
Please forgive the video quality. I had my graphic settings on ultra with Sailor’s Delight windlight pre-set. My movement is clumsy and jerky, but this is to give an idea of an Orientation trail I’ve created in the 3D virtual world of KoD on Reaction Grid and also to flex my tiny new video-making muscles.
The video starts out at the welcome landing point near the arena for Kingdom of DeMolay, and I did not build any of that, or the great teleport topo-map. My part starts through the archway… I went a little wild having fun with landscaping and really think it helps bring a lot of realism to the scene. Nothing fancy here, and no music. Just a walk through the progress of my project and a couple sights along the way while I figure out how this video stuff works.
Let’s not forget the fashion, eh?

And now for something a little different! I made a harp! Yeah I know… totally out of left field huh?
So… what’s gotten into me?! I have been working hard at creating new hairstyles, but had hit a rough spot in the design process as the last two wigs just didn’t “feel” right when I got them done. While waiting to get suitably inspired I managed to injure my back working in the barn, and well, it just plain hurt to sit too long at the computer. That put a bit of a damper in my style… but now I’m back in the saddle and inspired to make something I’ve never attempted in all my years in virtual worlds… A harp!
Gee a harp. That can’t be hard right? Well it may look simple, but there are lots of little details like strings and pegs… with 36 each of those, well it’s not easy to keep the total prim count down.
I managed to complete the harp, and a nice chair to sit on for a total of 114 prims. Woot! I wanted nice smooth curves and a rounded back soundbox.
Not as easy to make as it was to imagine, because I like a bit of the realistic approach. My soundbox had to be hollow, and it had to show the strings poking through, and I wanted nice oval shaped access holes in the back for changing strings. Now, I just need to figure out how to do a sound loop and add some of my original music into it, but that will be down the road. And I need a good harp playing animation…
So, having been a Celtic Harpist in real life for over half my life, why did I never make a harp back in Second Life? Mostly because of the prim limit. I was usually only able to afford a 512 sq meter lot, which allows only 117 prims. At a total of 114 prims for the harp and chair, that would eat up a big portion of the prim budget. Have harp, who needs house!
That’s one of the great things I love most about InWorldz and opensim grids… the higher amount of prims we get to play with! Another thing I love, besides the clothes and fashion… is that we can open up a shop or business on a shoestring, literally pulling it out of thin air. It’s just a dream waiting to happen for anyone with a creative bone in their body. And with no upload fees, it’s great for people just starting out or wanting to try something new without a huge expense.
Here I am wearing the gorgeous Valdora gown by Boaz Sands of Simply Fae, standing next to my new harp, and toying with the idea of opening up an odds ‘n ends store called “The Nookery” where I will get to play with some of my more oddball ideas that don’t fit into either my other shops. And yes, I am wearing men’s hair again. I don’t know why I’ve been on this tom-boy kick. Must be the hot summer temperatures. I just love how playful I feel wearing it, and and yet still feminine.
So that’s it for this little peek into the nooks and crannies of Boudica’s very diverse mind. Hope you enjoyed it and I’ll see you next time!
